Making Music with Louisa Beadel
26 August 2021, 6.30pm-8pm
Open to NYT Members & Hub Subscribers
Want to make music for theatre? Want to play music in theatre? Want to make it out of the things in your kitchen?
Louisa will teach you how to create instruments made up of things from around your house and then play a well known piece of music. Drawing on her experience as a multi-instrumentalist, musical director, actor-musician and arranger, this workshop will give you a fresh new take on making music for theatre - or for yourself. Come along whether you’re curious to learn, or whether you want a bit of fun.
Louisa is an actor, musician and NYT REP Company Graduate.
All abilities/experiences welcome. If you play an instrument, bring it along and we’ll get it involved.
You will need…
- 6 water glasses or jam jars
- one (empty) loo roll
- dry rice
- two elastic bands
- one piece of A4 paper/newspaper
- two ‘beaters’ (can be cutlery or wooden spoons)
- one tin of food (ie baked beans) with the wrapper off
- a teaspoon
Captions are available during this session, and the session will be available to watch back.
