This Week at NYT | New shows and courses announced!

Posted 29 Jul 2023 by Joe Duggan

Our full season announcement is just around the corner - as a teaser this week we've just announced our two latest productions!

Tortoise at the Bunker Theatre

We’ve just announced our Playing Up Company’s end of course production which this year will take place at the Bunker Theatre!

2015 Bryan Forbes Assistant Director Matt Harrison, fresh from critically acclaimed The Fall, directs the world premiere of Tortoise, an electric story of escapism, grief and the pressures to succeed by NYT Associate Artist Mark Weinman (Sex Ed).

As technology continues to consume us, there are more and more places to hide. This brand new play asks at what point does reality come knocking on its virtual siblings door?

11-14 July | Bunker Theatre

The Reluctant Fundamentalist in Bradford and Edinburgh

Following two critically-acclaimed sell-out runs, The Reluctant Fundamentalist adapted for stage by Stephanie Street and directed by Prasanna Puwanarajah returns to NYT.

This time we're heading to the Bradford Literary Festival, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in July and August!

Drink tea in a Lahore café with Changez, as he traces his journey back from an America gripped with fear and retribution in the wake of 9/11. A tale for our times that speaks directly to a world that still lives in fear of the ‘other’.

1-2 July | Bradford Literary Festival

14-26 August | Summerhall, Edinburgh Fringe
