ShortFLIX

The winners of SHORTFLIX, NYT’s collaboration with Sky Arts and Creative England are having their short films screened for the first time on Sky Arts this May. The scheme is aimed at aspiring new filmmakers aged 18-25 who are not currently in full-time education, employment or training.

Playing Up alumnus and ShortFLIX winner Dior Clarke and Blain Ho-Shing’s film BATTY BOY by is an uncompromising take on black gay culture, set against homophobia & dancehall music, appearing on SkyArts, 24th May at 10.30pm

David Witts has been cast as Fiyero in Wicked in the West End.

Diane Youdale is set to appear in the fantasy comedy film, Eric and the Barbarian, alongside Brian Blessed

The OLLIE Foundation (One Life Lost is Enough) an awareness initiative surrounding suicide intervention skills training entirely co-ordinated by National Youth Theatre young creatives have released their first film.

Richard Hope will star as ‘Arthur Kipps’ in the Woman in Black at the Fortune Theatre.

Finally, this week we heard the sad news that actor and NYT Alumnus John Stride passed away aged 81.
