What Do You See?

After its hugely successful show BOYS and OFFIE nominated GIRLS The PappyShow returns with a multidisciplinary performance, weaving words, song, movement, design, costume and audio-visual that asks us all to consider the question, when you look at someone, What Do You See?

With a 12-strong cast and team of 27 creatives representing the spectrums of race, disability, sexuality, age and body shapes, plus other diverse intersectional identities in Britain today, What Do You See? celebrates all those identities.

Believing the most diverse rooms are the richest and most likely to thrive - this work celebrates all of those identities. In a world where we have had to argue that Black Lives Matter, for disabled rights, for equal pay, against sexism, homophobia, transphobia - The PappyShow places these communities at the centre of the story and says WE SEE YOU.

Commissioned and premiering at London International Mime Festival, these are special private performances only for National Youth Theatre members and HUB members. Each performance will be followed with a post show discussion where you can ask some of the cast, creative team and The PappyShow core team on how they made the show and an opportunity for us to hear your thoughts on the show and ask any questions too.

Covid-19 Guidance: National Youth Theatre has a number of measures in place to ensure everyone is able to work safely during their time with us. As a result you are required (unless exempt) to wear a face covering when moving around the National Youth Theatre building and are encouraged to regularly use hand-sanitiser. Social distancing will be observed where possible. All participants must also take a Lateral Flow Test and receive a negative result within 24 hours of the performance start date.
