Posted 04 Apr 2017 by Joe Duggan

Today the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain announced that Barbara Broccoli will succeed Lord Waheed Alli as their first female President. Broccoli is one of the entertainment industry’s most successful female producers, perhaps best known for her work on the James Bond film franchise, including Skyfall and Spectre. Stage producer credits include Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Chariots of Fire, Once and The Kid Stays in The Picture.

Paul Roseby said: "I'm thrilled to announce that Barbara Broccoli is the new President of the National Youth Theatre and I also want to pay a special tribute to Waheed Alli who is stepping down as President after 11 brilliantly loyal years at the heart of our NYT family. Without him and so many like him, the NYT would not be able to be in 44 locations this year as we hit a record number of young ambitious new voices wanting to be heard."

Bond producer Barbara Broccoli said: “I’m delighted to be working with the National Youth Theatre in developing and celebrating the most talented and diverse young people that the UK has to offer.”
