NYT Auditions

Our 2018 Auditions are coming to an end! With less than 50 audition places left, now’s your last chance to audition for our national company of talented individuals this year! Bursary places still available.

Not sure what it’s all about? Check out this insight into the workshop element of the audition day.

Want to join NYT but acting not your thing? Or maybe you’re just looking to develop some new theatrical skills? Applications are still open for our 2018 Backstage courses!

Interested in lighting, sound, costume, scenic construction or stage management? Interview to join one of our three week summer courses, led by industry professionals!

Already auditioned and awaiting your result?

We’ll be sending out all of our results in May! But for now why not tell us how your audition day went, and enter our My NYT Audition competition to be in with a chance of winning an overnight stay in London as well as West End tickets!

There’s still a chance to bag yourself some £12 tickets with our preview performances or by completing our The Fall Survey surrounding the themes of the play! The survey is live until the end of March so complete it whilst you can!


DNA

Also coming up as part of NYT’s season at Southwark Playhouse is Dennis Kelly’s DNA.

Amongst the darkness of an unnamed wood, a lawless gang are trying to bury a dark secret. The group need someone to take charge, but who can they trust? Preview tickets from £12.

Playing Up

Aged 19-24? Want to work with the world’s first youth theatre to gain a performing arts qualification at A level standard? Applications are now open for NYT’s Playing Up company 2018/19!

Playing Up is a FREE accredited performing arts Access to Higher Education course for young people who are not in full-time education, training, or employment. It’s taught by industry professionals for three days a week plus home study.

The course runs from October to mid-July and is based at NYT’s rehearsal rooms in Holloway Road. A strong interest in performing arts and a commitment to an intensive nine month course is essential. For more information and to apply head here!


Spring Bank Masterclasses

Looking to brush up your skills in front of the camera? Led by top industry professionals, aimed at students wishing to gain more skills and knowledge in performing on TV and in Film, NYT’s Acting for Screen is a six-day masterclass is back this spring!

Booking is now open for our spring bank holiday Acting for Screen Masterclass this May in London, as well as for our summer masterclasses in Manchester, Guildford and London!

Congratulations to REP Company 2017 Alumni Amarah-Jae St Aubyn who has just been announced as part of the new cast for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Alumna Joan Iyiola is currently staring as the Duchess in the RSC’s The Duchess of Malfi, running until August 2018!

Star of NYT’s The Host Rebekah Murrell has just started rehearsals for Nine Night at the National Theatre, directed by Roy Alexander Weise - director of the 2017 REP Company’s production of Jekyll and Hyde.

NYT Members will be appearing in Sky’s second Urban Myths Series.

NYT REP Company 2017 Member Jo McGibbon will be starring in White Guy on a Bus at the Finborough Theatre.

Alumna Francene Turner is currently appearing in Sky’s Britannia.

Olly Alexander’s Years and Years have just new released their new single Sanctify.
