Playing Up Course Assistant Role

The National Youth Theatre is looking for a new Playing Up Course Assistant to play a key role on our expanding flagship social inclusion programme. Playing Up is an OCN Level 3 accredited 10 month drama training programme, offering young people aged 19 - 24 who are not in Education Employment or Training the opportunity to gain an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Theatre Arts, which is equivalent to 2 ‘A’ Levels. In 2019 the National Youth Theatre intend to grow and expand our Access Programmes by introducing a new cohort for an OCN Level 2 accredited training programme. This varied role will be required to work across these cohorts.

Candidates should be confident and considerate self-starters with demonstrable professional experience in administrative, pastoral and creative skills and a desire to work with young people at risk. Previous Playing Up Course Assistant’s have gone on to become Associate Artists at NYT and the Lyric Hammersmith. This is a fixed-term role.
