Applications are open for Stepping Up

Posted 22 Jul 2023 by Joe Duggan

Applications are now open for Stepping Up, National Youth Theatre’s free, accredited Level 2 drama training programme.

After running a successful pilot from January-April 2019, this unique part-time training course offers the chance for young people aged 19-25 who might have missed out on their GCSEs for any reason to get back into education.

Based at the National Youth Theatre’s Rehearsal Studios in Holloway Road, Stepping Up is a practical drama course, taking place over four months exploring performance skills such as physical theatre, improvisation, and devising. Over the course, participants will work towards achieving a

Level 2 Certificate in Progression in Theatre Arts, as well as a final performance to share the work and skills they’ve been developing.

Reckon you know a young person who would be brilliant for this course? Maybe they’re a friend, someone you work with, or maybe they’re you!

Applications are open until 18 October 2019. If you’d like to refer a young person to the course, please get in touch with simone.waller@nyt.org.uk.
