Bring a FREE Backstage Workshop to your Community

Do you work with young people 16-25 who might be interested in finding out more about backstage and design opportunities? At the beginning of 2024 we’re running FREE workshops across the country to engage young people in backstage skills, careers and opportunities with NYT in advance of our backstage courses this summer.
What are we offering?
A free workshop in your venue with up to 30 young people (minimum 12) from your organisation aged 16-25 years to introduce and get them excited about backstage roles in theatre & performance, as well as giving the opportunity for them to find out more about the National Youth Theatre and get a taster of our work. The workshop will be led by one of our associate artists, industry professionals working in backstage and design roles.
The workshop would take place on a day of your choice between:
Monday 22nd January 2024 – Friday 23rd February 2024
Following the workshop each young person will have the opportunity to sign up for 6 month free HUB membership, which will allow them access to a range of opportunities including a free interview for our backstage summer courses (if they’re successful with this interview they will gain a place on our course and can become a member). More information about when this interview will take place and what to expect on the day will be given at the workshop. There will also be an opportunity for the young people to ask any questions they may have about the National Youth Theatre.
