To help crack the ‘glass ceiling’ and other barriers that so many young people encounter, Netflix and National Youth Theatre have launched IGNITE Your Creativity, a new programme that will spotlight the wide range of highly skilled behind the scenes careers in film, TV and theatre. It will also build the confidence, aspirations, and networks of young people to show that a career in entertainment is possible regardless of their background.

Previous successful iterations of the programme have been run in South Wales and West Yorkshire. The South Wales element was delivered with Urban Myth Films and their Newport-based film studios, the Sherman Theatre, National Youth Arts Wales and local community organisations and schools. Our West Yorkshire cohort had the privilege of working with Production Park, a leading venue for the live arts industry, BBC Yorkshire, Channel 4 News, and more.

An advisory panel of industry leaders support the programme including Şenay Camgöz, Oscar winning designer Eve Stewart, BAFTA Nominated producer Luti Fagbenle, TV Executives Johnny Capps and Chantal Rickards OBE, film producer Lauren Dark, award-winning lighting designer Jessica Hung Han Yun, filmmaker Matthew Penry-Davey, and lighting designer Rob Halliday.

The next location Ignite will take place in is the North East of England, during the autumn/winter months.
