Bring the National Youth Theatre to your school
To support this year’s production of Dennis Kelly’s DNA, we’re offering bespoke workshops delivered in schools by the production's director Sean Hollands (National Youth Theatre Associate Artist, Theatre Practitioner at Frantic Assembly) and a small team of National Youth Theatre Associates including previous cast members. These workshops are a fun and inventive way for students to access GCSE set texts through drama participation, regardless of previous experience in performance.
Discussions and exercises covering:
+ Acting style and purpose, include vocal and physical skills
+ Design - Set and props, make-up and masks
+ Lighting and sound
+ Character and textual analysis
+ Use of stage space and spatial relationships, including level and entrance points
+ Intended impact and meaning for the audience
Workshops offered & costs
1 - 1.5 hours hour workshop/discussion = £200 + travel/accommodation + VAT (group size 10-25*)
2 hour workshop + discussion = £250 + travel/accommodation + VAT (group size 10-25*)
*If your group size is over 25 we will also provide an assistant. This means an additional fee of £50 will be added.
We can accommodate up to 40 participants per workshop. For this group size we would recommend a two hour session. If you have more students who would like to take part, we can arrange further sessions either on the same day or at another time depending on the space you can provide. We advise participants to wear something comfortable and to bring along a bottle of water.
Our workshops can be delivered at your school providing there is a space large enough to accommodate us. (approx. 10m x 10m)
