IGNITE Your Creativity

Autumn 2026 - Summer 2027

Lots of young people haven't heard about dynamic careers behind the scenes in TV, film and theatre, or don't think they're for them. That's why National Youth Theatre and Netflix created IGNITE Your Creativity, a free programme that opens the door to the many skilled creative careers behind the scenes.

Since launching in 2023, IGNITE has reached 4,5000 young people through more than 200 sessions across the UK. Participants go behind the scenes at major film studios and theatres, meet industry professionals, get free mentoring, and try their hand at everything from writing and set design to lighting, sound, cinematography and post-production. Most of them had no previous creative training and the programme actively engages young people facing barriers to accessing the creative industries.

IGNITE builds confidence, connections and practical skills, so that young people can pursue a creative career without needing an industry contact, a big-city postcode or a degree. Aged 16–25 and ready to find your place in the industry?
