Drama Club Saturday 11-14
Saturdays 10am-1pm | 13th Jan - 23rd March |
Whether you have engaged with the National Youth Theatre before or are brand new to the organisation, we are looking for young people to join NYTs Drama Club every Saturday.
During the term, you'll learn skills and techniques in areas such as:
- Voice
- Movement
- Devising theatre
- Text analysis
- Improvisation
- Character development
On the final day everyone will take part in a relaxed sharing for friends and family so they can see what you have learned that week.

Can I take part?
This course is available for anyone aged 11-14 whether they are active members of NYT or new to the organisation
Am I eligible for a free place?
At The National Youth Theatre we never want cost to be a barrier, that's why we offer limited free spaces on each course. For a free place, please fill out the short application form here
I have access needs, can I still take part?
Our courses are adaptable for participants with disability and neurodivergence where required. All participants are asked to provide Access Requirements before attending to make sure their needs are met. For further information, please contact auditionandcourses@nyt.org.uk
What should I bring?
Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a snack and water bottle (NYT is walking distance to many corner shops, cafes & local supermarkets to buy food from), and a notepad and pen

Facilitators
Chloe Cooper
Hannah Zoé Ankrah
Chloe is a professional actor, theatre-maker and Facilitator from South Wales. Chloe was a member of the NYT REP Company in 2022-23 and her favourite memory from her time with the NYT REP Company was performing Shakespeare on a West End Stage! Chloe has worked as a professional actor for the BBC and S4C, she is a Co-Founder of a Devising Theatre Company and loves to use her passion for singing in her work. As a facilitator Chloe has a strong passion for Movement based work in theatre and loves to share her passion for movement in her facilitation.
Hannah Zoé Ankrah is an actress and youth facilitator. Hannah trained with NYT’s REP Company and made her TV debut in the Sky One ’In the Long Run’ created by Idris Elba. She has since gone on to perform in projects produced by Netflix, Amazon, Audible, BBC Radio 4x and Developmental Media Animations. Hannah’s academic background in psychology and passion for wellbeing in the arts is a key part of her practice. Partnering with Parent Power and The Maritime Museum, Hannah has led numerous workshops combining theatre and mental health for young people. Now one of NYT's Emerging Artists, Hannah is interested in developing the confidence of each performer she works with through play and finding one’s individuality.
