Digital Self Tape Auditions

Held digitally across 5 evenings this course is aimed at those age 18-30 auditioning for the National Youth Theatre, those wishing to audition for NYT or drama schools and those who want to prepare for general self-tape auditions in the future. Participants will learn how to feel confident in producing a self-tape. Participants will look at:
• How to find and select the right monologue/audition piece to best showcase yourself
• How to approach performing a monologue/audition piece, including work on text and character.
• How to film, edit and send your self-tape.
• What to expect from auditions across various contexts
This course is open to NYT members and non-members aged 18-30 and no previous experience necessary.

Nadia Nadif
Lomond Sebastian
Nadia is a professional actor and film maker. Nadia was an NYT member until 2006 and has since worked as an associate artist across auditions, courses and productions. Outside NYT, Nadia has worked as an actor with companies including the BBC, Shakespeare’s Globe, National Theatre, the PappyShow and many others. As a film maker, Nadia has been commissioned by the UK Independent Film Trust, the BFI, Amazon and London Southbank film school. She also teaches screen acting for Florida State University. Nadia is interested in demystifying the self tape process and approaches to screen acting for young people and ensuring they have a toolkit of skills that best serve them.
Lomond is a professional actor and writer. He has trained with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, GAMTA, and NYT Seniors 2022. He has worked on BBC television productions and in numerous theatrical productions across the UK. Additionally, he has writing credits both in Scotland and abroad (having taken part in Zimbabwe’s 2022 Literary Festival in conjunction with Glasgow University). Currently, he is in training with Queen Margaret University via their New College Lanarkshire Acting Honours Degree. Lomond is interested in finding everyone’s true potential and discovering the ideal conditions in which they can achieve it.
