Creative Night School: Intro to Performance

Do you love acting?
Have you always wanted to step onstage, but not sure where to start?
Do you want to learn more about how productions are created, from first rehearsal to final performance?
Intro to Performance is a FREE opportunity for young people ages 19-30 to discover more about theatre-making and performance, and hone new creative skills at the National Youth Theatre.
Over six evening sessions led by industry professionals, you’ll explore acting, devising, theatre-making and more to develop your creativity and confidence as a performer. This course will also help to increase employability, opening access to a breadth of dynamic opportunities and experiences across the creative sector.
The course will run from 6pm-8:30pm every Wednesday from 26th February – 2nd April at the National Youth Theatre on Holloway Road, London with bursaries available towards local travel.
How to Apply
Creative Night School prioritises applications from young people who are underrepresented in the creative industries in order to diversify and enrich the creative sector. No previous experience is necessary.
Please note: to be eligible for this course, you MUST be resident of one of the following boroughs: Islington, Haringey, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Camden.
You must also meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Household income below the London Living Wage (Less than £27k)
- From the global majority or other underrepresented backgrounds
- Identify as D/deaf, disabled, or neurodivergent
- Lone parent
- Currently not in employment, education or training
- Living with mental health conditions
- Care experienced
