We are pleased to share the news of a double win for NYT at the 2025 Civic Trust Awards on Friday evening.
Our building was recognised with a Civic Trust Award and was highly commended for Selwyn Goldsmith Awards for Universal Design.
The judges noted that “NYT’s revitalisation not only celebrates its historical roots but also prepares it for a sustainable future. It reflects NYT's dedication to nurturing the next generation of theatre-makers, while fostering a sense of belonging and community for all who walk through its doors. A shining example of how inclusive design, community engagement, and thoughtful architectural interventions can create spaces that not only serve but inspire their users.”
The Civic Trust Awards celebrate projects that make an outstanding contribution to the quality and appearance of the built environment, demonstrating excellence in architecture or design whilst being sustainable, accessible and providing a positive civic contribution.
The Selwyn Goldsmith Awards for Universal Design celebrate places that are responsive, flexible, welcoming, easy to use & occupy - allowing all to use with dignity and equality. These are places and spaces that have gone beyond building regulations, using best practice guidance, putting people at the heart of the project and showing exemplar design.
