Our Masterclass in Spoken Word led by NYT Associate Artist, returns in-person this June for ages 18-28.

Course times: 6.30pm-8.30pm
Led by award-winning poet and NYT alumn Laurie Ogden, this masterclass programme is a chance for writers to create new work and develop their craft in a nurturing environment. Suitable for both new and emerging writers, over the course of five workshops, you will:
- generate new writing
- explore and develop skills in a large range of poetry and performance styles
- receive feedback on your work and develop editing skills
- learn about working professionally as a poet
Laurie is a multi-award winning northern creative based in South-East London. She was the winner of the 2021 Ambit poetry prize, shortlisted for the Box of Tricks/Sky Arts SCREEN/PLAY award 2020, and is on attachment at The Traverse, Edinburgh. She has created work for the likes of Barbican, Roundhouse, Channel 4 and BBC. Her debut pamphlet Humaning was published by flipped eye in 2021. She trained with the National Youth Theatre REP Company.
