Creative Leadership is a unique creative development opportunity open to active National Youth Theatre Company Members.
The programme offers opportunities for NYT Members interested in theatre training, drama facilitation and teaching to develop their skills in a hands-on exciting environment.

Ambassador Training (14-25s)
NYT Ambassadors receive a day of training from an NYT Associate exploring leadership and communication skills. As an Ambassador, you can get involved as an Ambassador on our national auditions and backstage interviews tour, volunteer to speak about NYT in schools and events, and support NYT fundraising events.
Inclusion Training (18-25s)
Inclusion Ambassadors support the delivery of our Inclusion Programme of workshops, auditions, after school clubs and performance opportunities aimed at neuro-diverse and disabled young people.
Young Facilitator Training (18-25s)
Our annual Young Facilitator Training provides NYT Members a weekend of training focusing on learning and developing their teaching, directing and facilitation techniques.
Members with this training can go on to work on paid roles on our summer intake courses and masterclasses, gain Assistant Director roles with us, or work on specialist projects with NYT.
Creative Leaders (18-25s)
New to 2020, Creative Leaders offers the chance for 30 NYT Members to receive specialist training across three weekends in facilitation, arts leadership, and inclusive practice, and to learn more about building a career in the theatre industry. This programme is specifically targeted at young people currently underrepresented in the arts.
Members with this training can go on to work on paid roles on our summer intake courses and masterclasses, gain Assistant Director roles with us, work on specialist projects with NYT, and in the long term become an NYT Associate Artist.
Centre Stage Creatives (18-25s)
A brand new career boosting talent development opportunity for current NYT Members, new to 2019. Centre Stage Creatives offers the chance for a select number of current NYT members aged 18-25 from any creative discipline a unique chance to work alongside the organisation for 18 months, to connect our members to creative opportunities in their area and one and other, and produce a piece of creative work in their local area.
Playing Up Course Assistant + Stepping Up Course Assistant Roles (18+)
Open to National Youth Theatre members or alumni who have completed Creative Leadership Training. These exciting paid roles offer the opportunity to work alongside our Playing Up Company for ten months, or Stepping Up Company for four months, assisting on the creative delivery of the course, providing administrative pastoral support, and assistant directing the end of course production.
Bryan Forbes NYT REP Assistant Director Bursary (18-30)
A unique opportunity for an emerging director aged 18-30 to train alongside our NYT REP Company supported by a £10,000 bursary. The Bryan Forbes NYT REP Assitant Director supports the work of the REP Company, assistant directs their shows, receives mentoring from an industry professional and in the past has had the chance to direct their own production. This opportunity is open to anyone aged 18-30, you do not have to be or have been an NYT Member.
