School Auditions

Alongside Video and Open Auditions, we also run School Audition Days around the country each year.

School Audition Days will run from January - March 2026. As part of your Audition Day, a NYT facilitator(s) will visit your school to run a group workshop for up to 40 students, before meeting your students individually for one-to-one monologue auditions.

Eligibility

In order to audition, students must be between the ages of 14-25 (or up to age 30 if learning disabled) on 31st July 2026. If successful, ID to verify participants' ages may be required before the course start date.

School Audition Day Overview

Our School Audition Days usually run as follows:

  • 10am-1pm: Group workshop
  • 1-2pm: Lunch
  • 2pm onwards: Individual auditions (10 minutes per student)

Pricing

  • 10-20 students: £200 + £24 per student
  • 20-40 students: £400 + £24 per student

N.B. The £24 fee per student is waived for any students in receipt of pupil premium/free school meals.

At the National Youth Theatre, we are committed to ensuring that finances are never a barrier to young people taking part. If you would like to organise a school audition but are unable to fund the costs, please complete this form to apply for a fee-waived audition day.
