'Start-Up - the action or process of setting something in motion’
A Saturday class for 11-14 year-olds from the National Youth Theatre
This brand new course offers young people age 11-14 the opportunity to engage with the NYT and develop their early interests in performance before auditioning to become a member of the company.
Participants will explore the NYT’s approach to ensemble theatre making through story telling, devising, music, dance, characters and chorus. While the final week of term is open to family and friends to see their work.
10 week term: £250 (10am – 1pm or 2pm – 5pm)
St Andrew's Building, Greycoat Pl, Westminster, London SW1P 2DY
Summer Term: Starting 22nd April 2017
Autumn Term: Starting 9th September 2017
Winter Term: Starting 6th January 2018
Terms are led by a variety of NYT directors and associate artists offering an assortment of practice in every session so young people can attend more than one term and learn different skills and techniques. While course dates and term times are fixed, we do appreciate 100% attendance isn’t always possible, and welcome participants to join in even if the term has already started. The final sharing of work is an informal, non-compulsory event, while we encourage as many participants as possible to be involved.
