NYT Statement on #NoGreyArea
Last month, the Royal Court Theatre's #NoGreyArea put out an industry-wide challenge to call out unacceptable behaviour relating to abuses of power in the theatre industry and beyond. We have added our support to this movement and on Wednesday made a statement about the National Youth Theatre, which you can read on our website here, in the spirit of collaborative action, to ensure that our community can be open and honest with us about their time with the company as we move forward together. Filming has wrapped on 'BATTY BOY' by NYT Member and ShortFLIX winner Dior Clarke. Congratulations Dior! We can't wait to see the finished product broadcast on Sky Arts in the new year.

Our Start Up Saturdays sessions are expanding! We’re really excited to be taking our 10 week long masterclasses for 11-13 year olds to Birmingham this January. We’re also still running classes in London.

Chic to Cheek
On Monday night, NYT is hosting its Chic to Cheek fundraising gala, aiming to raise big funds for big talent. As well as performances from NYT Vintage Members Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Tom Allen, we’ll be treated to an exclusive performance by current NYT Members directed by Olivier Award Winner Adam Meggido.

We’re in the middle of our annual Auditions and Backstage Interviews Ambassador training. We’ve loved having our members get together for training sessions with NYT Associate Kane Husbands, and can’t wait for our Auditions and Interviews roadshow in 2018 so our members can put all of their training into good use.
